Privacy Policy

Tindra is a product of Ashmark Studio LLC ("we", "us"), which operates this site and the app and acts as the data controller for the limited information described below.
The short version
Tindra is zero-knowledge. Your novels, story bibles, and settings are encrypted on your device with a key derived from your passphrase before anything is synced. We store only that ciphertext so your work can travel between your devices — we cannot read it, and we never see your passphrase or your manuscripts in the clear.
What we collect
- Account information. Your email address, used to sign in and to tie your subscription to your account.
- Encrypted documents. So your work syncs across your devices, we store an encrypted copy of your novels and settings. It is end-to-end encrypted with a key only you hold; to us it is unreadable ciphertext.
- Purchase information. When you subscribe, Stripe (our merchant of record) collects your email and payment details under its own privacy policy. We see your email address and subscription status, not your card details.
What we don't collect
No analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers, and no readable copy of your manuscripts. This website does not set cookies.
Third-party AI providers
When you generate text or images, your prompts and relevant manuscript context are sent directly from your browser to OpenRouter using your own API key, and on to whichever model you chose. Optional features send text to ElevenLabs (narration) and search queries to your own SerpAPI key (market research) the same way. Those transmissions are governed by each provider's privacy policy. We are not a party to them, and that content does not pass through our servers.
Your data, your exports
You can export your complete novel data at any time — a KDP-ready .docx, Markdown, or a full encrypted backup (including to your own Dropbox). Your encrypted backups are protected by a passphrase only you know. Because the passphrase never leaves your device, it is the one thing we cannot recover for you, so keep a backup of it.
