Tindra connects to your own OpenRouter key, so you pay providers directly at cost and choose exactly which of hundreds of models write your prose, plan, review, edit, and generate covers. An optional ElevenLabs key adds read-aloud narration. Your manuscript is encrypted on your device before it syncs, so even though it's backed up to EU servers, we only ever hold ciphertext we can't read.

You subscribe right inside Tindra, which starts a 7-day trial — you won't be charged until it ends, and you can cancel before then from the billing portal in the app and pay nothing. There's no key to enter and nothing to activate; subscribing unlocks your account instantly.

They're yours, in open formats. Export a KDP-ready EPUB and .docx, a print interior, or a full encrypted backup to your own Dropbox at any time. Everything we sync is encrypted with a key only you hold — derived from your passphrase on your own device — so we could never read or keep your manuscript even if we wanted to.

Once Tindra has loaded it installs like an app, and the data layer is local-first, so reading, editing, and exporting keep working without a connection. Drafting needs the internet to reach your AI provider, and syncing your latest changes to your other devices resumes the next time you're online. Updates apply silently on the next cold start, so a deploy never reloads you mid-session.

Yes. Sign in on any device — laptop, desktop, tablet — and your work is there, end-to-end encrypted and synced over EU servers that hold only ciphertext. Your subscription covers multiple devices on the same account, and your vault key is asked for once per session — it's never stored, so a returning session always requires your passphrase before anything is readable.

Only as much as you let it. Tindra's whole design is the opposite of a "generate novel" button: you approve the outline, you approve every chapter's beats, and every beat of prose is a draft until you mark it canon. An editorial board flags what reads machine-written and a surgical editor repairs only those spans — the book drifts toward your voice, not away from it.

Any device with a modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox — on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iPad, or Android. There's nothing to download and no installer: open app.tindra.ink and, if you like, install it to your home screen or dock so it opens like a native app. Updates apply automatically.

Zero-knowledge by architecture. A 256-bit data key, derived from your passphrase with memory-hard Argon2id on your own device, encrypts every byte before it leaves you. The passphrase, your one-time recovery key, and the data key never touch our servers — which is exactly what makes "we cannot read your work" literally true. There's no key escrow: lose both your passphrase and recovery key and even we can't recover it.
